Very friendly staff and a unique vibe set this place apart from others in the Sykesville and surrounding areas. If you like local artisanal craft beer that you can't always find everywhere this is the place! It's great that places like this exist outside of Baltimore.

There are always friendly faces whether it is one of the bar tenders or one of the regulars. I enjoy the simplicity of the food menu, and the constantly changing choices of beer. The market portion is small, but carries a decent selection of various wines and beers.

"This Must Be The Place" You know when you walk into a place and you immediately feel comfortable, less stressed and at ease? Market Tavern is that place! The atmosphere is welcoming -- there's a great bar and an awesome market with great local and foodie finds. I'm a huge proponent of local food/drink, so it's really great to see Market Tavern as a purveyor local and unique items. Also, the food is SO good! They have tapas which is perfect for me because I usually like to try a few different items (hard for me to make a decision!!) All in all, I think Market Tavern is worth the trip to Sykesville. You can walk along Main Street and pop into shops before parking it on a bar stool and enjoying local pours and eats! There's also great hiking in the area!
There is just something about this place that feels great. The people there are nice and inviting, makes you just want to hangout there all day.
