Our cat was suffering from pancreatitis -- we had gone and received unhelpful instructions/next steps from our normal vet in Westminster, MD that could have resulted in her health taking a serious dive. My wife and I decided to get a second opinion from the vet that originally saw her at the animal ER and we were beyond pleased with the staff and their commitment to helping us through her treatment by squeezing her in for an appointment with less than 24 hours notice, being available by phone for questions, etc. I plan to switch my other cat's vet records here as well; I couldn't be more thankful for Dr. Laura Owens and the staff I met with.
It has taken me 7 years to write this review. We had an 11 year old Himalayan who was brought, thoroughly examined, and given a clean bill of health. They did recommend a tooth cleaning. We agreed, Something went wrong. Our cat came home listless and wouldn't eat for several weeks. Took her to emergency vet who determined she had liver damage from an excessive dose of anesthetic. There was nothing to do except spend $5000 on surgery or put her down. I will stop here.
Great vet office. wonderful staff. My two dogs seemed to enjoy there visit.
Dr. Owens is great! The staff here are so nice and caring. I drive from Mount Airy because I can't imagine taking our pets anywhere else.
I will not go back there since Dr. K was fired. The woman was a saint on earth for the animals. They are lying about her departure.
I want to add that the cat was perfectly healthy when she was brought in for the teeth cleaning. I lost my best friend and it has taken a long time to get over it and write this review. I hope this will help other pet owners to decide whether to use this vet or not.
